OSI: Thinking

These pictures have earlier been published in my post titled Perspective.

Do you like poetry?
If you do, One Single Impression is a community of poets writing and sharing Haiku and other poetic forms every week. Here is my contribution to the prompt of this week: Thinking.

1.
Today, I sit in my room thinking...

Why so many conflicts, disease and pain?
Grieving and suffering, who is to gain?
Why so much hate, killing and warfare?
How long can we bear, without a prayer?

Freedom, why only some enjoy its beauty?
And the rest live in fear, while in captivity,
So many children hungry and dying, not fair,
There's no peace in this world, does anyone care?

2.
Stepping outdoors, I am thinking…

How lovely is the flitting butterfly!
The transitory clouds and the blue sky,
Beautiful flowers I find in full bloom,
Greeting me with their sweet perfume!

On the mountains I see glistening snow,
Enthralling are the colors of the rainbow,
How wonderful is this brand new day!
All’s perfect, and I run to join my friends to play!!

I called in to say thankyou for visiting my blog and leaving a comment, glad I came. Your poem is lovely and I do believe that the good outweighs the bad.

That's a beautiful child. The freedom and joy of the outdoors--may we all know and enjoy it. Somehow.

I so agree...it's an unfair world.

Great images!

Transition of thoughts between two worlds is too Joycean for me...maybe, its poetic compulsion has let it run faster through those hidden alleyways in moments...No doubt of its excellence in keeping the soul on the saddle !
It tempts me to listen the tale of that journey...that keeps the truth of holding both sinner and saint in oneness, frailty inherent to the masks--both of pride in yearning for freedom and prejudice in owning it up--that gets changed in between and the passion that overcomes all questions to let everything flow as fluently as axioms...
Have lots of thoughts !!

Hey Celine, you've done great with this prompt. Thank you soooooo much.
Your pictures match the mood in the verses perfectly, I'm wondering (there I go, thinking some more) if he posed for you like that. He is precious.
It is refreshing to see those different moods themselves as well. I am glad you put the optimistic one last.
Thank you for writing and posting these and welcome back from sitting out for a while. Sorry I am so late, guess I was spending time thinking and not answering comments any sooner.

Jim,

I'm delighted to read from you that the pictures match the words.
That's my nephew who was photographed a couple of years ago. Somehow I thought that the picture of him carrying the burden of the world on his head (hence his hand on it) is apt for the first verse and more so because it appears that he has lately turned out to be a mini-philosopher even at a young age!
The second picture/verse is a reminder to us that deep down he is a child, so he also ought to run around and play with other kids.
Thank you for a nice comment, and your words of appreciation.
