Rainfall is generally light in the deserts of Middle East, I believe, with an average of about 150 mm. Oh, but there are few instances in the past when Dubai has been flooded by rainwater..

This endless stretch of dunes extending till the horizon was what I hoped to see in the Thar desert... But alas,as you know -it was the dunes, then shrubs, dunes, BSNL tower, dunes, tourist camps of white canvas,BRO road, vehicle parking area, dunes with decorated camels taking tourists for a ride, literally and otherwise :)

Btw, I've only seen landrover safaris on that side of the world - camel safaris avail too?

Btw, Picture#2 very pretty.
