Nice post and pics. I was watching other day a documentary on china's first empror who had built his tomb much before his death, a lavishing one. Initially i wondered they were crazy to do so, but then to look at positive side, atleast they leave behind such great art works of those times. In this time of focus on technology, we may never be able to create these kind of architecture. Dont you think so?

Hey, I love that groovy voice of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. I had another look at that video and the backdrop of historical monuments are fascinating. Could figure out glimpses of the Qutb Minar, the Juma Masjid, the Raisina Hill, the Red Fort, and also the Taj Mahal from a straw field.
Was Humayun's Tomb included too? I couldn't recognize one monument at the beginning of the song but I guess it wasn't Humayun ka Maqbara.

You must be referring to Emperor Qin's tomb and the terrocota armies. I am really at a loss to opine on the need for elaborate tombs, but as those monuments of history are there for us to enjoy, so I do go, visit, and take delight in its marvel.

But in this case, in the last eight months, I passed by the Humayun's Tomb twice - Dec 2007 and Feb 2008, not to mention earlier visits.
