Last month when on holidays in India, I passed by this Buddhist Gompa (Monastery) located in Coorg while on my way to the Nagarahole National Park. I briefly chatted with these monks and they were cheerful and friendly.
I do not recall the name of the Monastery. Does anyone out there in and around Karnataka have a clue? Have a nice day and happy skywatching!

Nice Pictures. Love the color on those buildings.
This monastery is similar to one in the Catskills, New York! Great shots.
beautiful. I love the last shot.
Vamsee,
Thank you. Yes, pleasing colors they are!
Sandy,
I checked out some photographs of the Catskills Gompa in New York, and do see the similarity.

Welcome and thank you for dropping by and leaving behind these nice words.:)
I love this place. It is so neat and tidy, and the architecture is nice. Great post!
Well, I haven't been to a monastery and surprisingly Coorg has a vibrant one.
Lovely pictures. But aren't these pictures more suited for say 'Monastery Watch Monday'? What say?
A Buddhist monastery in Coorg? That's interesting.
Lovely shots,as ever :)
Louise,
Thanks. I shall sometime post pictures of how neat, tidy and serene the inside of this place is!
Kalyan,
The atmosphere in these gompas is peaceful! Coorg has at least two monasteries that I've been to. This, and the other one in Bylakuppe.
I'll check on 'Monastery Watch Monday.' If you have a ready link, please let me know. Thank you for the info.:)
Sameera,

Beautiful sky :)
Alok,
Thank you for the information. I checked out the pictures of Nyingmapa Monastery, and it looks slightly different from the pictures that I've got. I could be mistaken though. Thanks a lot anyway.:)
Priyank,
Shukriya.:)
Are you by any chance talking of Bylakuppe... I have not visited yet, but heard lots of it.
Indrani,
No, it's a different one.
I've been to the Bylakuppe monastery too some years back. That's a fabulous place.
I like monasteries ..there is a certain calmness there
The monasteries are known localy as the Llama camp. The one in the photo is either Sera Jhe or Sera Mey, Kushalnagar, Karnataka. An absolute haven of peace.
