I went so close to the place, yet didn't go to the Valley of Flowers. It was January and temperature had already dipped several degrees below zero. And now when I see the pictures - I sigh!
I think the Valley is snow bound by January and access to it is limited to 4 or 5 months in a year.
The best time to visit the VoF is in July and August when the weather is pleasant and flowers are supposed to be in full bloom. A visit to the place is well worth it and I hope you get a chance to be there someday.

Cuckoo, Yes, it drizzles on and off in July-August yet that same time is supposedly the peak flowering season. I am never turned off by rain, so it was fine for me.
Oh, there can be fog too and visibility can be reduced, but why worry? If you are fortunate, the fog may lift off and you may get a chance to enjoy the place through bright sunshine.
Wildflowers have their own charm, and to me, the fact that they grow in the wilderness make them all the more endearing. As for the plants in the Valley of Flowers, some of them are rare, and some on the list of endangered!
Spring in Canada should be lovely. I’d love to be in your area someday in autumn though.:)

But as you said July-Aug is best time to visit, isn't it rainy that time ? Mostly a turn-off for hilly region ?
