Melody

This Haiku was inspired by the prompt of this week Melody provided at One Single Impression.

This photo was published earlier in my post titled
Symphony by the Sea.

Brightness, warm colours
Melody of chirping birds
Welcome, brand new day

After a long cold and rainy week in Seattle, this haiku was a blessing to remind me that there is warmth and color.

  5. pray that i may wake
    to jays, robins, and chicadees
    before the alarm

thanks for reminding me how much i love to wake and listen for a few minutes before the alram...as the sun begins to take my window...the birds take my dreams and offer a roll-the-credits song!

    enjoying your poetry!

Celine, you are really tempting me to try my hand at some.. I had differnt opinions about haikus, but nw I think nothing like them fr instant gratification ! :)

  9. The sound of nature. So often missed (covered up) in the cities. I am lucky to get it too, although not in such dramatic settings.

  20. Lavanya,

    5-7-5 syllables. Simple!!
If possible, do add a seasonal or nature word, but these days for modern Haiku even that is not necessary.;)

So, don't stop. To some it's also a stress buster. It's much fun. You'll love it. Start with it immediately. I shall be over to you shortly.:)

    Thank you.

This morning, on my way to work, I briefly stopped by the beach. I watched the clear blue sky, enjoyed the waves crashing the shore, watched birds flying, and I loved the breeze (though a bit too warm) on my face. I am at work now and smiling thinking of the warmth of another beautiful day!
